Totally different sound from different places. Whele was my first listen, and it must have been his millionth or so: Michael's experience was exactly the same as ours sonically- hands down, we produced a better LP.

The UK pressing of the first stealerx will be hard to top They clearly believed in Rafferty and Egan from the get go, recording at Apple and hiring Geoff Emerick as one of the engineers.

I'd really love to pick up Submitted by LesT73 on Fri, Rafferty and Egan split in amid legal wrangling that confirmed every negative feeling Rafferty felt toward the music business. I hope the late Gerry Rafferty's fans appreciate having these two Stealers Wheel records back on vinyl! I've really looked the most closely at what Ron Rambach and Joe Harley have done with Music Matters Jazz and tried to emulate that level of quality and attention to detail.

Ferguslie Park was recorded after a dizzying string of changes in Stealers Wheel -- co-founder Gerry Rafferty 's exit soon after finishing the group's first LP, his replacement by Luther Grosvenor and the delayed climb of "Stuck in the Middle with You," Rafferty 's return, and the firing of all involved and the reduction of the group to its founding duo of Rafferty and Joe Egan.
